The Felix Street Square Market and parking garage being built by Mosaic Life Care, with stairs and rails fabricated by Midland Steel, features a ground floor retail space ideal for a grocery store. Several regional grocers are considering placing a store in the retail location, which offers 33,000 square feet of space. The grocer that occupies the facility will be marketing to the approximately 10,000 people that live within a one-mile radius of the store.
Roaster’s Block is one of the newest downtown apartment communities in Kansas City. The historic building, which Midland Steel helped convert into a sought-after abode, and where Folgers once roasted and distributed their coffee, is located at the corner of Broadway and Eighth Street. The Centropolis took advantage of a site that had been vacant for decades to construct five stories of apartments, enclosed first-floor parking and a rooftop terrace. Midland Steel added extra support to the existing structure and put in new industrial stairs and balconies. The 56 units offer an average of 850 square feet for one- or two-bedroom accommodations.
The 1914 Main Apartments in the Crossroads Arts District in Kansas City provide residents with striking views from their balconies in this walkable neighborhood. Each of the 44 one-bedroom units range from 730 to 940 square feet. Midland Steel worked on the existing structure and added new industrial stair rails and balconies.
